This is what I had to do to fix it.


1) Run MFCMapi
2) Session menu > Logon and display store table
3) Logon to the user's mailbox
4) Double click on the row for the user's mailbox (it should say something like
"Mailbox - Username")
5) In the tree to the left, expand "Root Container" and "Top of Information
Store"
6) Right click on "Inbox" > "Open Associated Contents Table"
7) This will open a window which you may need to resize to see all the columns.
8) Find the row with message class "IPM.Configuration.Owa.BasicFolderOption".
9) Right click on this message and choose "Delete Message"
10) Leave "Delete to Deleted Items" selected and press "OK"
