Select one of the 'Word' documents in File Explorer and click the Properties tab in the Quick Access Toolbar.
Click the Change tab and select Word > OK. If it isnt showing, click More apps to locate it. Use the Look for another app on this PC if necessary. Select Word and click OK. Your Word .docx files should now open in Word by default as they should do instead of Wordpad.
