It is great for us people who like the software we bought years ago, to still be able to use it on our current computers. I don't own a cell phone, so I was pleased that MS continues to provide an interactive way that activation can be done 24/7. I won't often compliment MS, but they deserve it. Adobe is a different story, since they took down activation servers for Acrobat versions of the same age as my Office.

I found this thread via Google when I wanted to activate my Windows 7 and Office 2003 in a VM.


The US phone number worked for me (as of 1 hour ago), whereas the UK number did not work. However, I only tested the voice activation, because I did not know how to get to a text verification stage. I am located in Germany, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
