Office 2010/XP OPEN & SAVE AS
Windows XP/SP3:
On my third 'clean' re-install of 2010 to replace 2003 and I still have the following problem which needs someone who understands the presumed change in the explorer API between 2003 and 10. Any attempt to 'OPEN' a new file from the file menu or 'SAVE AS' an existing file in all OFFICE products causes the programme to hang if I try and drill down or up a few folders or drives. I get 'Not responding' in T Manager. It seems to cope with one or two jumps only. 2003 does not exhibit this problem, nor do other progs which use a GUI explorer window such as Acrobat/Paint Shop Pro etc etc. Directly opening a file in 2010 from the basic explorer/my computer GUI works ok. 2010 on my W7 set up functions normally. I have searched the internet and tried a few solutions involving reg changes to 'recent files' and 'places' to no avail. I do not wish to re-install Windows and have run a few sfc cycles with no change. I would appreciate any pointers, or do I just quit and revert to 2003? |
