Years ago I installed Money 2003 to help run my sole proprietor business.
A few years later I bought a new computer, and installed Microsoft Office Professional 2008, which includes Accounting Express. I could not update at that time because (a) Accounting Express appeared to have no literature, tutorials, or support whatsoever, and (b) the then-5-year-old Money was TOO old, and incompatible. I was unable to find a way to update, so I've kept on using Money 2003. THAT computer just died, and I bought another, with Windows 7. I installed Money 2003 from my original CD. I CANNOT RESTORE FROM MY BACKUP!!!! I have a week-old backup file on a flash drive. I install this drive and look at the directory, my backup file is right there, with a date of 5/27/2011. However when I'm in Money and browsing for the file, it is NOT THERE! That file is missing. Outside of Money, indeed it IS there. Go figure. Is there a compatibility problem with Money 2003 and Windows 7? If Money 2003 is old, ancient, and no longer has support, please tell me what DOES and please explain how to use my backup file with it. Push comes to shove, I've got another, much older computer with Windows XP. I can probably install Money 2003 on that one, and at least see my old backup. But I want to use THIS computer. |
