![]() In mail merge, when dragging placeholder(s) into document, the placeholder does not go to the place in the document that I want it to go. I think I am not understanding how the function operates. |

What do you mean by 'placeholder'? A mergefield typically looks like «MyField» and can be dragged to wherever you want it to go, but you need to select the entire field before dragging it.

Thanks for responding macropod.
The version I am using calls it a placeholder but I think mergefield is what I am trying to place in my document. When I attempt to drag a mergefield into the document it will only go where the document's margins are set. I can only get the field to the location I want by adjusting the margins. If I try to place additional mergefields in a different locations they will only go where the margins I have previously set are. |

I am having difficulty following what you mean, since the only content limited to 'marginal' areas is whatever is in the page header or footer. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data and fields/placeholders (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.
