Hello
i am fairly new to mail merge but have found it straightforward in most of the documents so far. i am using mac 2011. i have an excel sheet where all the data headings (placeholders ? )are in column "A" and the data i wish to merge is in Column "B". i click the "get data" and select " open data source" which opens the excl spreadsheet and places the headings for row 1 as placeholders with the blue asterisk next to them. from this point i can't seem to add or change the placeholders to the ones i want. does anyone know if changing placeholders from rows to columns can be done , if so at that stage do i effect the change. Hi keys,
Mailmerges require the data to be arranged in columns, with one row per record and the headings at the top of the data in each column, not to one side.
