Thanks very much, Paul.
The original wasn't mine but I suspected that might be the problem. But when I looked at the merged documents the second time I ran them and they looked ok , I thought I'd made the wrong decision. I appreciate your helping me out of a jam with my boss, since she wrote the letter.  Hook
