Hi, thanks for the replies,
I will try out my sheet which has column for month, and row for date, entries in some cells, though examples show all cells with values, as if an ideal world, I dont get to take a reading except friday or sometimes another day, not sure if it will like that. My 12 columns each with 30 or 31 and 28 cells (feb) needs to be strung along X axis, with the meter readings subtracted one from the other to give gas used as points for the gas used on the Y axis.

However I now need advice on another sheet.
It has first column time, second is gas boiler temperature, third is gas flame Indicator on or off
TIME TEMP FLAME INDICATOR
00:00:00 45 Off
00:00:08 44 Off
00:00:15 44 ON
00:00:17 45 ON
00:00:19 46 ON
00:00:21 47 ON
00:00:23 48 ON
00:00:27 49 ON
00:00:45 50 Off
00:00:47 49 Off
00:00:49 48 Off
00:00:52 47 Off
00:01:02 47 ON
00:01:05 48 ON

using scatter with line, I have X as time and Y as temp, I need to also have on X the On or Off as a coloured area, or somehow show on and off zones.
On and Off as cell values dont get recognised in a graph, needs to be numerical I think.
How do I do this ON and OFF thing ? On as green and off as blue areas for example. I see nothing on such at all.

Thanks
DBenz
