Hope that I am not the 1st with this problem, but have run search and cannot find any relevant results.
I make frequent use of a third-party software called Dragon. This is a voice to text program.Primary use is for quick insertion of data into Excel. With office 2010 everything runs with no problems. With office 2013 after a short initial period will lock up and using macros throws up an out of memory message. The same use of macros under office 2010 works perfectly. Dragon software advise that the problem is happening, because a standard installation of office 2013 uses what is called click to run. This apparently virtualises Office and causes problems and conflicts with third-party software connections and add-ons. Dragon advise that I need a full version installation of Office 2013, which I believe is referred to as an MSI. Have twice been in contact with Microsoft technical support. 1st time I ended up buying Office 2013 home and business, because they thought it would give me a full installation. It does not. On 2nd contact, the technician advised that using home and business, as opposed to my original software, home and student, would not solve the issue. He then tried to sign me up to a support plan which would cost me about 50% of the cost of the software purchase. I declined. Could anyone explain to me, without getting too technical, exactly what a "full version" is, and how do I go about obtaining it. Any help gratefully received. Thanks Alan Quick edit. The profile somehow shows office for Mac. Actual use is Microsoft 2013 office. Last edited by mobile; 04-30-2015 at 12:53 PM. Reason: change profile |
