As a quick attempt, I go to the last row of my data, select that row until the last row, right-click / delete those rows. Then I go to the last column of data, select that column until the last column, then right-click /delete those columns. Then I "SAVE AS" the file to a new name. This usually helps. SAVE AS might work all by itself.
