When we try to add a column or row to a large spreadsheet, Excel will freeze and then close. We've run a repair on MS Office and reinstalled it. No change. Any suggestions?

You might add some extra memory to your computer.

Throwing more memory at the computer won't fix problems that aren't memory-related. There is no evidence of that here.

Srotolo: Try running Excel in safe mode, and seeing if the problem persists. If so, it's possible the workbook has some form of corruption; if not, the issue may be related to a 3rd-party Addin.
