Default Find/Replace is not working - Excel 2010

When I do a find and replace, the find function works find but the replace is not working. When I click on replace the data in the cell does not change. When I use replace all I receive the message that X number of replacements were made but the data in the cells remains the same.

I have all the cells formatted as text because I am working with numbers that I want to be seen as text.

Any ideas on how to correct this?
