When I do a find and replace, the find function works find but the replace is not working. When I click on replace the data in the cell does not change. When I use replace all I receive the message that X number of replacements were made but the data in the cells remains the same.
I have all the cells formatted as text because I am working with numbers that I want to be seen as text. Any ideas on how to correct this? |

Without seeing the worksheet containing the data, and what you're using for the Find/Replace expressions, it would be difficult to diagnose the problem. Can you attach a workbook to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive) plus a description of the Find/Replace expressions? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.

I figured out the issue. It seems that even though I had formatted the columns as text Excel was still seeing the cells as numeric. So when I replaced 244 with 244.0 the "0" was truncated in spite of the text format. I changed my replace statement to '244.0 and it now works. I've attached a print screen to illustrate the before/after.
Thanks! |
