Whenever I try to record a macro I get a message "Unable to Record". When I go to the VBA Macro editor, it says that there are no open projects. Previously macros had been working, but one day my machine hiccuped and since then macros have not worked.

I have tried to find a solution on the internet but the suggestions I have found either don't work or don't make any sense to me.

I am running Excel (as part of Office 2007 Home and Student edition) under Windows 8. Macros work fine under the Word application but not Powerpoint.



Any help in finding an answer or a relevant article or posting would be much appreciated.
