Bob
I open a new, empty workbook, save it as a macro-enabled workbook, and then open the macro editor. Previously, when I did this, the Project Panel would show the active workbook and would allow me to create a new module. In that module I could write macros and run them against the workbook. Now when I go into the VBA editor, the Project Panel is blank. If I try to insert a module, all of the options are grayed out and inaccessible.
By "hiccup" I meant that Windows seemed to freeze on me and then it shut down. When I restarted it, a lot of my programs (Delphi, for example) were back at the state they were in when I first loaded them. For example, I had to reload all of my user libraries in Delphi. It was at this point (I think) that I started having trouble.
As far as trying with other office products, I only used the macro capability with Excel and Visio. It currently doesn't work in either of them. I tried to record a simple macro in Word a couple of days ago and it seemed to work. When I tried again a short time ago, it didn't.
Based upon some internet investigation, I looked for a Personal.xlsm file and found there wasn't one. I created an empty excel file and saved it as Personal.xlsm in the Office12/XLSTART folder in the office directory but that didn't help.
Beyond all of that I am lost!
Thanks for any help you can give or directions you can point me in.
