Here's one way
=LEFT(A1,SEARCH("\ /",SUBSTITUTE(A1,"\","\ /",LEN(A1)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"\",""))))) The formula will return a #VALUE! error if there are no \ characters in the cell being checked. |
