Default

I assume you mean you'd set the default paste option to 'in front of text', via File>Options>Advanced>Cut, Copy & Paste. Aside from that being a rather odd option to make the default (I'd have thought in-line, square or tight would be preferable), if it's not working, that suggests you might need to repair the Office installation (via Start>Windows Control Panel>Programs>Programs & Features>Microsoft Office (version)>Change).
