A simple way of ensuring a series of photos all fit into the same area when inserted into a document is to create a suitably-sized table with fixed row heights and column widths. Any image files inserted into the table will automatically be resized to fit. For an existing document, resizing a single image then selecting another image and pressing F4 will resize that image too. Repeat as often as required (or select all images and do it once if they're not formatted as in-line.
