If you create a paragraph Style or character Style named 'Student' for the Student names, and apply that Style to those names, then you can use a StyleRef field in the header or footer to replicate the data. The StyleRef field would be coded as:
{StyleRef Student}
where the field braces are created via Ctrl-F9.

PS: You mention both Word and worksheets. The above can be used for a plain document or a mailmerge document, but not if you're referring to worksheets embedded in a Word document.
