I finally solved that problem! Just make sure that in File Blocking Settings you uncheck all boxes under "open" or "save" and you check the option "Do not open selected file types" (I know it sounds crazy but that's what works).

I donno what's happening to MS. But they have been making their products less intuitive with every new version. If I wasn't getting their office suite through work, I'd use open office or something else.
