Normally, the style set should be saved as a Word 2010 template (*.dotx) in C:\Users\<user_name_here>\AppData\Roaming\Microsof t\QuickStyles. Search in Windows for the style set name you specified and see what comes up. Perhaps it ended up in the wrong location.
In the long run, using templates will be safer than depending on style sets, though.
