Template problem

I have word 2003 in Windows 7. I also have a copy of Publisher 2010 on the same computer. When I open word, the cursor is at the top of the page. I have tried deleting the dot file, saving the corrected one with the cursor lower on the page, renaming, etc. Nothing is working for me.

You are not explaining very clearly what your issue is. When you open a Word document the cursor will always be place at the beginning of the document. If you need the cursor to be at the end of a document then when you open it simply enter Ctrl+End.

what I mean by the top of the page is the top. I tried to pull down the cursor a few lines just like it has always been in the past and save the dot. It will not stay there. The next time I open, its at the top again.
