my boss (Vista, Office 2010, latest update installed) is having the following problem: when she receives a "normal" docx, everything is fine. When she gets a docx in which somebody has applied corrections in the review mode, she cannot open it.



I'm at a loss. Do you have any ideas?

Is there an error message when your boss tries to open the document, or what happens?

No message, it just crashes. I first thought, that the problem only pops up when I make review comments in my Mac version (she's on Windows). But lately, we had two cases when Windows users sent her a docx which crashed her Word. I can open the same documents without a problem. I then save them as doc instead of docx and then she can open them with all the reviews OK.

The issue seems to be specific to your boss's computer then. Has she tried the general troubleshooting techniques discussed at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...artingWord.htm?
