Hi RebelRoundEye,
A TOC can only maintain page naumbers as they are formatted in the body of the document. You can't edit the TOC and have the edits preserved through an update. I suspect the original document had the page numbering in the page footers formatted to include the chapter number. Your current document does not have that - the '1.1 pg' etc strings are simply typed into the frame that holds the page numbers and are not part of the actual page number formatting. And, before you can include the chapter numbers in the page numbering, you have to set the document up for that. For more info, see: http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...ingstyles.html http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...ppendixes.html http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/ChapterNumber.htm http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290953 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313288
