Comparing Large Documents
I am trying to compare two documents using the Review>Compare>legal blackline in Word 2010. I've done this before many times before with no problems. The two docs I'm trying to compare are 310 pages long. Is there a page limit for the compare? I'm still able to compare my smaller documents. It's just these two that are giving me a problem. Any other ideas on what to check? |

Hi katied,
For such large documents, I'd have thought using 'Track Changes' would have been a better approoach. I'm not sure if there's an upper limit for the 'Compare Documents' feature, but having Word do this on such a large document is bound to entail some significant performace issues. Presumably the documents have logical points at which they could be split into smaller ones for comparison purposes. I'd suggest doing that.
