Hi Jamal,
Quote:
what do you mean by "insert a new last paragraph"? does it mean that i need to TYPE a paragraph in the last lines of the last page in the old document? (why we are doing this step?)
I mean, go to the end of the document and press the Enter key. You do it this way because the file's 'metadata' starts immediately after the last paragraph mark. If you copy that, you get the corrupt 'metadata' as well.

Did you try this method on the sample file that i have sent? did it work?
Yes, I tried it on the sample you posted and it appeared to work.

how to copy and past the footer and header of some file to another file with exactly the same format and margin settings?
Except for, perhaps the last Section, all the headers/footers & page layout should transfer seamlessly. You may need to fix the last Section's headers/footers & page layout .

Thank you Paul.

It didn't work with me.

the problem in the heading 1 is copying itself in all the new file i go!!!!! further, a lot of editing work is needed when i copy and past the content of the corrupted file to a new one!!!

I'm wondering why the heading 1 can't be reset!!!

I'm loosing all the setting and the format in the ordinal file!!!!!!

very confusing and frustrating!

regards

Jamal
