Hi Joysie,

You didn't say what the error message was. If it's:

Quote:
"This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."
The most common cause is a corrupt Internet Explorer registry key (even though you use Firefox).

Microsoft has a 'Fixit' tool that should resolve the issue, at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310049

Although you use Firefox as your default, you need to set Internet Explorer as the default until you verify the links work in Word. To do this, access the Default Programs applet from the Start Menu or Control Panel. Click on the "Set program access and computer defaults" then choose "Custom". In "Choose a default web browser", check on the "Internet Explorer" option and click the OK button. Then:
• Open Internet Explorer.
• Go to Tools|Internet Options|Advanced and click Reset.
• Go to Tools|Internet Options|Programs and make sure Internet Explorer is the default.

Once you've got things fixed, you can restore Firefox as your default browser.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
I don't get an error message, just a pop up which says

Unable to open http://(name of website). Cannot locate the internet server or proxy server.

The link you sent me appears to be for a fix in Outlook, my problem is in word. I do not use outlook at all. All my emails are through Yahoo or AOL.
I will try using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox and see if that helps.
Too late tonight though, will try tomorrow.
Thanks again.

Joysie
