Probably because you have applied the Caption Style to the equation. Try inserting the caption in a new paragraph.

thank you for the answer.
but i need the caption to be next to the equation as this is the required format in my report. however, if i keep the caption next to the eqaution i'm in trouble, and even i'm not able to change the style of the equation (attached)! but why? why the equation takes the style of the caption and cant be changed? thank you regards Jamal |
