Some days ago an unknown virus attacked my system and i reinstall my Windows. All the doc files which I had are infected by this virus. all the data in these files is converted into symbols. some body please help me to recover this problem. I made this file in word 2003 and i tried to open this file in both 2003 and 2007 version but all in vain. Word 2007 shows that file is corrupt while in 2003 it shows symbols. The docs files were working good before reinstalling windows.

Hi David,

In cases like this, you need to restore your documents from whatever backups you've been making as a safeguard against just such an event. If you haven't kept backups, you're out of luck unless you can find copies in emails and/or on USB drives etc.
