Using Office 2007 in XP to copy edit other people's docs, I am having the following problem when converting endnotes from Roman (default) to Arabic:
1. Type "Hello world". 2. Insert an endnote beside the "o" in "Hello" 3. To convert the Roman superscript "i" to Arabic "1", highlight it and type something to bring up the Footnote and Endnote dialog box. 4. Choose Options > Endnotes (bulleted list) > "1,2,3,..." from the number format drop down list > Apply. Superscript "1" and "World" now each appear on different lines (bug?). The problem occurs when I try to close up space so that the superscript 1 is back beside "Hello" and followed by "world". When "world" is on the same line, it automatically converts back to Roman again. Am I missing something? |
