How may I get new hyperlinks to use the hyperlink style?

I modified the Hyperlink style to small font:



I then used Create Hyperlink Here at a position having Normal style, but got Normal's large font instead:





even though I did get the colour and underline of Hyperlink style, and Formatting toolbar does show the style is Hyperlink.



Ctrl+K hyperlink creation does the same.
