I am seeing the warning attached below on opening of my Word documents in Word 2019. Seems a recent behavior, maybe last couple of weeks.
As far as I can tell, I do have Autosave turn on; see 2nd attachment. Would appreciate any thoughts as to how to keep the warning from showing up. Thanks. |

The second attachment only shows that AutoRecover is turned on, not AutoSave. AutoSave only works for documents that are saved to OneDrive, whereas you have selected the option to save to computer by default.

First, AutoSave is not perfect. It does not always work.
Second, as Italophile said, it is different from AutoRecover. If you are using a file on your computer in a folder that is synced to OneDrive, you can turn AutoSave on for that. Take a look at: |

There is an ongoing issue when the warning banner is difficult or even impossible to get rid of, if that is your main concern. This has been reported to Microsoft (which is documented in the Microsoft Q&A forum). No fix has been provided yet, but hopefully it won't be long.

I'm glad it now appears to be fixed. Thanks for the follow-up.
