The Debug shows the line where the code ran into a problem.
Did you copy and paste the code or did you type it? The first active line starts with "Dim." I am using Microsoft 365. |

Sometimes there is something weird added to the vba code posted. In Charles' post above, there is a rogue '[/HTML]' sitting on a line. That should be deleted after you paste the code into the vba editor. If you then attempt to run the code, it 'should' work but it is possible there is something else which is causing problems. If this is the case, choose to 'Debug' the code and have a look at the highlighted line. If you post back telling us where the problem actually exists we can figure out what is going wrong.

Hi Charles Kenyon
I copied and pasted the macro you sent me. When I pressed the debug it highlighted the top line and said there was an error. I guessed the error was in the highlighted line but there was no instruction of how to fix that error. Metta |

Hi Guessed
In answer to your reply to my question about the macro to change to UK English, I think the error must be in the first line. That was the first line that showed up highlighted when a message said error. I'll take another look at it and see if there was a line with the initials you mentioned (HM...). Without what you wrote in front of me, I can't remember the full initial. Thank you for mentioning it. Metta |

Hi Guessed
I just looked at the macro and saw that there was HTML in the highlighted line after pressing debug. I deleted that line and it still wouldn't run. There were other lines that showed HTML, so I deleted them too. It still didn't run but came up with a message that said For was missing. I deleted the macro from my VBA editor in Word and copied it from Charles Kenyon's original, back into my VBA editor. Now I have the original again that still doesn't run in Word. Metta |

To everyone who has tried to help me change the US English to UK English in Word, thank you. This is what I have done so far and still need help for my problem please. Now I know I have version 365 in Microsoft word. Does this make a difference? I tried running the macro Charles Kenyon sent me but something, or someone highlighted the first line and showed a message saying error. I pressed the debug button and a message came up the last time saying the error was in the lines with html. I deleted those lines and another line was highlighted. I think it was a for statement that they said needed something else to go with it. I hope someone can help soon please?

Firstly, please copy and paste the code you are using so that we can see exactly what we are debugging. Secondly, in your first post you said that you cannot change the language using the UI. If that is the case it is unlikely that you will be able to do it with code either as something is preventing that from happening. To enable us to investigate your issue properly you should attach a copy of the document using the paper clip icon. You can delete any content that is confidential. |

This macro was written in Word from Microsoft 365 and certainly runs here. Did you type the macro? Do not do that. Copy it and paste it in a module of Normal.dotm in your VBA Explorer. |
