The styles Heading 1 to Heading 9 are baked in to Word and cannot be deleted, so whilst you may not be able to see them because of your settings, they are still there.
Display the Styles Pane - Alt+Ctrl+Shift+S then click on the Options button at the bottom. In the dialog ensure that the drop-down at the top is showing "All styles" Screenshot 2024-09-30 081314.png All 9 heading styles will now be shown in the Styles Pane |

Hi,
thanks a lot for the quick response! I have found that other window where all styles are displayed. I have to look on the other computer to see if they are also displayed in the ribbon now. That issue should be solved then. Now, what I want to do - and I always have been able to do it actually - is to include a numbering (1,2,3 - 1.1, 1.2 etc.) into the styles. That worked well enough for "Heading1", but now I would like to incorporate the same into "Heading2". Does that work only when you work via the ribbon? I can adapt the styles - but next time I use the style "Heading2", the numbering is not there. For this time, I have just written the numbers, that was faster and it seems to work, they are incorporated into my list of contents. But that is not quite the correct professional way, is it ... |
