I want to create a document containing my financial details such as bank account numbers, share portfolios etc and current balance for each.
I would like to be able to print that document containing all the details EXCEPT the amounts/current balance eg to print it to go say with my will. I could go through the document either removing each amount or making them blurred but wondered if there are settings which can turn them all off or on at will and still retain the values. |

You can apply a character style to the parts you want to optionally hide and then you have the ability to change the attributes of that style to show/hide the content.

Thanks. I have never heard of or used Character Style so researched the internet and the first 'hit' mentioned pressing Alt+Ctrl+Shift+'S' to 'trigger' Styles. I tried that and nothing happened. Maybe my version of Windows is too old however my version does display top of screen using the Home tab 'Change Styles' with a drop down menu of Style Set, Colors, Font and I have no idea what to do then and so either need a document and/or YouTube video tutorial assistance.

Found a YouTube tutorial and noted that I would need to select every amount value in my document and assign a style to it which I can modify however I could not determine how to make it invisible (or blurred or whatever) so that it doesn't print in such a way to be able to be read.

You modify the style to make it either hidden or white. Both are part of font formatting.

Thanks Charles. Silly me not thinking it would be a font format.

You need to be very aware that this solution is ONLY SAFE for producing a printed copy of the content. The actual information you are trying to hide is still in the document so if you send the document to people then they will be able to reveal that content.
