![]()
Hi there,
Sorry, I'm very new to all this, please bear with me. ![]() I've inherited a mail merge document and I need to add a new field that displays the 1st of next month based on a value in my source data (a column called Date_First_Payment). e.g. If Date_First_Payment = "10/07/2024 00:00" then I'd like to show "1st August 2024". I've had a look at DateCalc V2 and it looks like there's a brilliant function there that I can tweak slightly to give me what I want, "Calculate the day & date of the nth day of next month". However, I'm a bit lost as to how I'd actually get that function pointed to the datasource value of Date_First_Payment, rather than today's date. I've tried removing the "Date" and then, in its place. inserting my Date_First_Payment mailmerge field, but I get... 1-!Syntax Error, ,-2024 I'm not sure if it's just the way I'm adding the field in that's wrong, or if the presence of the time "00:00" in my data value, is what is scuppering it? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot, Andy |

![]()
Hi,
I managed to sort this out myself. ![]() In case it helps someone else clueless, I found I only needed to delete "DATE" (or "Date") and then literally just type "MERGEFIELD Date_first_payment" in its place. I thought as I was changing it from the Word "DATE" value to a merge field that I would need to do Insert Merge Field (as you "always have to use the UI"). However on this occasion, as the structure I needed was already there, this was inserting extra brackets around the merge field which I didn't need. Thanks, Andy.T |
