As Italophile has indicated, there is a feature for storing reusable content. Collectively that feature is now known as building blocks and the content you add to the building blocks can be categorised into groups (one of which is Autotext). Word's interface makes it easier to access those building blocks via the ribbon if you instead categorise your entries as a Quick Part.

More about AutoText (ignore info about Building Blocks, Content Controls, and Quick Parts when using menu versions of Word):

Note, there are far better options in the Ribbon versions, with building blocks and the Building Block Gallery Content Control.
You can also do a fair amount with a UserForm and vba, but that gets much more complex. |

Thank you Mr Andrews, just about got the hang of it. And thank you. Though Mr itaphile has responded first, it was too too brief for a novice like me to understand.

Sorry, I assumed you’d know how to use Google, and I mentioned Autotext as that is what applies to the version of Office that your profile says you use.

If you're on a recent version of Office on Windows, your Normal.dotm is probably located at: "C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm" Your Building Blocks .dotx is probably somewhere like: "C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1033\16\Building Blocks.dotx" You can also find an old thread here I initiated, in which Mr. Kenyon not only gave me great advice about building a Global Template.dotm which could be shared, but also about Graham Mayor's add-in which allowed for import of a whole string of client addresses I wanted to place in AutoText (works a treat!). |

[QUOTE=kilroyscarnival;182162]You have some choices while building up your store of AutoTexts/Building Blocks. The first question is where are your current Quick Parts being stored. If you have already made some, you probably see the Building Blocks ..........
Thank you sir , Will try and get back to you |

You copy the template that holds the AutoText. You indicated that you are using Word 2003 which does not have the ribbon. It does have toolbars and menus. |

Just to make this clear, as there seems to be a lack of clarity in this thread:
Office 97 - 2003 Has Autotext only Office 2007 - Has Building Blocks/Quick Parts, which includes Autotext. Building Blocks can be organised into galleries (use the Custom galleries to ensure that the building blocks don't appear in the galleries in the ribbon), and assigned categories (start the category name with a space or underscore to make it appear at the top of the list) |
