I used to have a Word add-in that showed my open documents in tabs, similar to tabbed pages in a browser. But it's gone away somehow, so I'd like to reinstall a tabbing app or add-in.
Can anyone recommend such an add-in? It doesn't have to be free (I'm that desperate ;-) |

See Office Tab by Extend Office.

Thanks for your recommendation, Charles. I'd looked at OfficeTab before, and liked its features. I've downloaded it now.

I've used Office Tab for years now, but as of 2024 it has not been updated in some time and now crashes Word when you either try to close the app or close the last open tab. It appears Word updated, and has broken Office Tab's functionality. I really hope Extend Office updates it, but they seem to have dropped this product. Too bad, too.

Another update: the problem appears related t a conflict between TransTools+ and Office Tab. But Word reports the crash as being caused by Office Tab, not TransTools. Disabling Transtools allows Office Tab to work again.
I did manage to get ahold of Office Tab's developers through an email, and they did respond. So I correct my last post: they are still active. I think their support ticket system is busted, though. |
