I simply find it impossible to Work with Word in the present situation. Everytime I paste even one line of text I get an hourglass!!.

I really think my PC is possessed, not by some demon or something but there is obviously some program that or virus or malware that is slowing Word down. I have no other CPU or memory-hungry apps running.

I have plenty of RAM and a fast SSD hard drive.

I ran a Malwarebytes scan and Windows Defender and didn't help anything. What I need to do is get some real-time monitoring app so that when I paste text into Word and it goes so slow I can see what is going on under the hood.

I DL process monitor for Windows from MSOft. but I can understand how to use it. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Sighhhhhh

Susan

Well, things have picked up. I disabled two settings in the options dept and now it seems to be working very fast.
