Run Office in 32-bit Mode for Speed?
I'm running Word 2019 (64-bit mode) on Mac OS X High Sierra (the penultimate OS version). I have a 12 processor mac pro. But Word runs very slowly especially my macros.
I read some place that unless you have very valid reason (which didn't apply to me) you should run Word in 32-bit mode for speed. Is this true? If so, do I need to completely uninstall Office and reinstall, or can I somehow switch the mode to 32-bit? |

Does sierra allow 32-bit apps?
The advice you've read applies to Windows versions. |

Apparently Apple will discontinue after Mojave (latest OS version). So your answer is "yes".
As for the second part of my question, do I need to reinstall or is there a switch I can toggle to run in 32-bit mode? |

In general 64-bit code should run as fast or faster than 32-bit code. The main reason for running Office in 32-bit mode is for compatibility with 3rd-party addins, some of which aren't 64-bit compatible.
