Note also that much of what you may be seeing in the Styles Pane could be direct formatting. See Styles Pane content in The Styles Pane by Suzanne Barnhill, MVP.

Checking the boxes for showing font and paragraph formatting in the Styles Pane will do this.

If this is what is showing, for anything that you want to have the particular look, develop real paragraph or character styles and use the Replace feature for that.
