Question HELP!!! Windows 11 update removed several 'Format Object' functions from Word

Company just forced Windows 11 update to my PC. Current documents still open with Windows 10 Word 'Format Object' functionality and toolbar. New documents created from my template (built in Windows 10), open (in Compatibility Mode) with no 'Format Object' toolbar - only a pop-up window, and a lot of functions are gone.

Examples of lost functions:

You can no longer group shapes or objects together UNLESS they are inside of a drawing canvas.

Lines and pointers no longer offer Sketched Style; Compound Type; Cap Type; or Join Type.

And I've not even gone that far into this new thing!

Someone PLEASE tell me I have missed something, and these controls have just been moved or I can them back on somehow!!!!!
