The reason I wanted to do AutoText is that I really like the autocomplete option from there. Plus, I sometimes work at another desk, and since I sometimes copy my Normal.dot template back and forth, that helps that AutoText can reside there.

Been getting the chance to play with stuff that will hopefully make my life easier around here.

  1. For portability, store your building blocks in independent Global Templates. Where can Building Blocks be stored?
  2. AutoComplete will work with any kind of building block if stored in Global Templates and not in the Building Blocks.dotx file.
  3. AutoText is the only building block supported in the Mac version of Word.
While I use Greg's utility, and really like it. I load it as an Add-In when I want to use it rather than having it load automatically.
