Word automatically creates a link from a URL or email address. I seldom ever need/use that feature and would like to know if there is some way to make not linking the default.
Your help is most appreciated. Using version 14.7.7. Yes, I know it's old, but my needs are minimal and will upgrade someday! Thank you. |

A similar question has been asked in one of the Microsoft forums, so you may already have received a reply (if that was you asking too).
There are basically two approaches to this. You can turn off the option in Word Preferences that converts URLs to active hyperlinks. Or you can modify the Hyperlink and FollowedHyperlink styles so that hyperlinked text ranges do not look like hyperlinks.
