file recovery without document recovery task pane

Computer rebooted with Word 2007 having several documents open and more in the document recovery task pane but when restarting Word, the recovery task pane does not open. The only *.wbk files I can find are Backup of *.wbk and quite old.





Any practical way to find the missing files? I did quite a lot of work since rebooting before discovering this so finding fles in unalocated disk space is not likely to work.

The Back up of *.wbk files are backup files, not file recovery files.

You are looking for files in the format *.asd. These are special, not Word documents.
