I am new to using advanced features, so be very explicit, please.
I haphazardly typed hundreds of pages and am now editing and formatting I stumbled onto the header feature. I highlighted my chapter titles using header 1 (Segoe 14). I inserted styleref and indicated heading 1. I set page one to different. Page 1 is currently PREFACE. It is one page long. I started on line three, so I see no header and I like that. Page 2 is HOW TO READ THIS BOOK. I see that chapter title in the header on subsequent pages. Good so far. I see the header change when I get to TABLE OF CONTENTS, which is highlighted as a HEADING 1. TABLE OF CONTENTS is in the header on subsequent pages. ALL STILL GOOD. However, when I get to CHAPTER 1, the header did not change. TABLE OF CONTENTS is in every header thereafter. The other question I would like answered: In the CHAPTER HEADING, I have a SEGOE Symbol (A keyboard) . Different chapters might have different symbols. That symbol is switched to a box with a question mark in it. Not cool. It seems text characters are transfered into the header but not wingdings or symbols Is there a work around? |
