I need to change a selected portion of text in a document into 2 columns, just that section. But when I do it, the pagination restarts at the next page. For example, the page where I created the columns is #55, next page starts in 0. I noticed this is because a section break is created before and after the columns. I looked around on the internet and saw that to fix this I could try clicking "Continue from previous section" in Format Page Numbers, but it isn't really working.
Also by directly deleting the Section Break while showing ¶, but this only changes back the 2 columns into 1. ![]() |

When you have a section in which page numbering restarts and you add a section break, that setting transfers to the new section. Go to the new section and use the Format Page Numbers dialog to tell Word to use continuous numbering from the previous section.
Otherwise if there are two many sections like this or you can't figure it out, look at Continuous Page Numbering Add-In. |
