Default print preview does not match document (Word 2016)

I am trying to print a 12 month calendar, each page being 1 month.

I have included different colors for each page.

When I enter a page background color it somehow messes up the print preview. The white border is the usual about 1/16" on all sides except for the right side which is something closer to 3/8". This cuts into the calendar and just looks really bad.

I have set custom margins to zero, but it doesn't help.

I have even redid the first month from a blank page, but when I put in the background color the print preview goes bad.
