Default printer does not work with MS Office

Just added a new printer HP Envy 6055 which is supposedly Big Sur compatible. It prints everything except any MS Office document; I am using Microsoft Word for Mac 16.53 and Mac OS 11.6. The print screen comes up and then says it is searching for the printer. The printer is selected and works with all other apps. Any suggestions?

Mac Office behaves differently than Microsoft Office. This forum is for Microsoft Office not Mac Office so you may not get help here. Also Mac OS is totally different to Microsoft Windows OS so you need Mac OS forums or Mac Office forums. Try searching for these and they will probably help you.

You are mistaken. Microsoft Office is a product on both Windows and the Mac as well as various mobile platforms. This forum addresses issues there. It is true that the bulk of people answering questions here, like me, have more experience on the Windows version. Microsoft Office 11 is a Microsoft product, approximately released at the same time as Word 2010.

What I meant to say is that Office on a Mac must 'talk' to the Mac OS differently than it 'talks' to Microsoft Windows OS. It must do this because the two OSs are different. I reckon the printer drivers must be different for the two OSs and I was suggesting that other Mac users are better placed to help the OP.
